One year anniversary!

Today is the one year anniversary of my Etsy store, and I wanted to take the opportunity to send a huge thanks to all my customers and supporters and blog friends for a wonderful and successful first year! 66 total sales, not including custom orders, is 66 more than I was expecting!

Don't forget free shipping on all items at the shop from now until January 8.

Wishing all of you the best for a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2009! Happy New Year!

Anniversary dinner

For our wedding anniversary, Mr Hazel and I went out to dinner to celebrate. The restaurant was inside a gorgeous boutique hotel.

Here are pics of the front room that I couldn't resist taking.

And here is what they called the library, except there weren't any books. It was still a gorgeous room, though.

The dining room, where we dined on duck, foie gras (which was to die for), steak, chanterelle mushrooms, and a chocolate pot de creme for dessert.

The front entrance of the hotel.

As we were walking back to the car after dinner, we passed by this European furniture store and I pretended it was the inside of my house. I loved the high ceilings and that staircase!

Mr Hazel also got me my favorite flowers, gerbera daisies.

One year later

Today is my first anniversary at the day job, and some of you may remember how miserable I was that first day a year ago. Looking back, it seems remarkable to me how much things have changed since that day. I've made a lot of good friends. I feel comfortable in my routine and in my environment. The strange has now become the very familiar.

Funny how things work sometimes.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is Mr Hazel's and my wedding anniversary. Pictured above is our wedding cake, because I still dream about it to this day.

We're waiting to celebrate until closer to the end of the week because of scheduling conflicts, but Mr Hazel did buy me flowers, two boxes of chocolates, and a bottle of wildly expensive champagne. I know what I'll be eating for dinner tonight!
