Today's observance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s 80th birthday holds special weight this year, coming on the eve of the inauguration of our nation's first African American president. I feel humbled every time I think about it.MLK Day has also been designated as a day of service to others. I've been sidelined with a bad cold and sore throat all weekend, but I'm hoping to get a chance to pack up some clothes for donation in order to do my part, however little, in commemorating this important day in the history of Civil Rights.
